Together with you and Welthungerhilfe, we are providing hygiene packages and training for families in Cox's Bazar.
Did you know that each of our products always includes a social donation? Let's look at Cox's Bazar in Bangladesh, a place affected by several mutually reinforcing crises.
Almost 1 million refugees currently live in the Cox's Bazar district. After the outbreak of violence against Rohingya Muslims in Myanmar in 2017, they had to flee across the border to Bangladesh. People live close together in camps. Physical distance is difficult to maintain, so infectious diseases can spread extremely quickly. The host communities also need support, as the region has high poverty rates and is severely affected by the effects of climate change. In 2023, Cox's Bazar was hit by 2 cyclones and storm surges and floods are becoming more and more frequent.
Here you donate a hygiene product or hygiene service with your care product, which supports people in their daily hygiene practices.
How exactly do local hygiene products and services help?
The distribution of hygiene products may sound insignificant at first - but it can make a big difference in preventing infectious diseases. Together with Welthungerhilfe, we are therefore supporting people in Bangladesh with hygiene products, especially girls and women. Because menstruation is a social taboo in many communities, this means that women and girls are often unaware of safe menstrual practices. In addition, there is often no access to menstrual products such as sanitary pads. This can cause infections, for example, or lead to girls not going to school. In addition to distributing hygiene kits, Welthungerhilfe also offers workshops and training courses on health topics.
