Donate a personal care product to a fellow human being

Support for people affected by poverty

Millions of people in Germany rely on regular support from food banks – not only for groceries, but also for everyday hygiene products, which can quickly become expensive luxuries for people with limited means. Yet clean hands, freshly washed hair, and well-cared-for skin are essential for health and dignity. That's why share supports food banks in Germany in this area as well. For every share product sold – soap, shampoo, deodorant cream, or hand cream – share provides a food bank client with an equivalent product, because personal hygiene shouldn't be a luxury.

Tafel Deutschland

Tafel Deutschland is the umbrella organization for over 970 food banks throughout Germany. Its tasks include coordinating, supporting, and advising regional and local food bank operations. It acts as a voice for food banks to donors, policymakers, associations, and the public, and organizes the distribution of monetary and in-kind donations. Many food banks also organize other services in addition to distributing food, such as free haircuts from a hairdresser.

How exactly does the distribution of care products work?

Let's return to our 1+1 principle: How does the sale of a personal care product lead to assistance from a food bank? Together with our partner, Tafel Deutschland (the German food bank association), we want to enable people affected by poverty to access personal care products. As an independent aid organization, Tafel Deutschland does not support any products or services. Therefore, for every personal care product sold, share donates an equivalent product to Tafel Deutschland to improve access to personal hygiene.
