Your snacks donate to people in Austria

Thanks to your purchase, we save food and distribute it to disadvantaged people with the help of Caritas of the Archdiocese of Vienna.

Did you know that each of our products always contains a social donation? We often don't have to look far to help, because social inequalities are growing in Europe too. Many people suffer from hidden poverty. A situation that is being exacerbated by the effects of Covid-19 and the Ukraine crisis. With your snack, you are donating a portion of food to disadvantaged people in Austria.

But what is actually behind a portion of food?

You probably already know how Caritas' food bank work: Food that is actually still good but is no longer suitable for sale is collected from supermarkets, taken to the warehouse, sorted and then distributed to the various distribution points. People affected by poverty receive a package containing at least 500 g of food through our donation. This makes a tangible contribution to combating food poverty and at the same time save food from going to waste.

At the same time, our partner Caritas offers social counseling, which is free and easily accessible. In voluntary counseling sessions, the social workers work with the guests to find ways out of poverty or measures to improve their living situation.

Caritas Vienna

As an aid organization of the Catholic Church, Caritas is committed to helping people in a variety of ways. Regardless of their social, national or religious affiliation, Caritas advises, accompanies and supports people in difficult life situations - for example in financial emergencies, in case of illness or need for care, in case of disability, when fleeing, after accidents or disasters.

How exactly is a portion of food financed?

Now back to the donation. How does it turn into social assistance? Together with our partner Caritas, we want to give people affected by poverty access to nutritious meals. However, as an independent aid organization, Caritas does not support any products or services. That's why share gives 9 cents of every snack sold to Caritas of the Archdiocese of Vienna to help save food. We do this by supporting the logistics work, i.e. the transportation, sorting and distribution of the food.
