Your snack helps children and mothers in Nepal

Together with you, we distribute meals to children and mothers on site.

Did you know that each of our products always contains a social donation? Let's look at Nepal, the highest country in the world on average. This is where a large part of the Himalayas is located, including Mount Everest. Rural, remote areas with poor infrastructure are also a factor that exacerbates food insecurity in the country. Children and women in particular suffer from inadequate nutrition. The COVID-19 pandemic hit vulnerable families in Nepal who were already suffering from hunger hard and quickly turned from a health emergency into a nutrition and livelihood crisis. Here, your snack donates to provide malnourished children and mothers with vital meals.

What do these meals look like and what else is behind them?

The World Food Programme (WFP) is on site in Nepal and ensures that children receive nutritious meals from the very beginning. Children, as well as pregnant and breastfeeding mothers, receive fortified cereals that are cooked into a hot, nutritious porridge. No other phase of life has as much of an impact on physical and mental health as the first 1,000 days of a child's life. Since this phase begins in the womb, the mother's nutrition during pregnancy is also incredibly important.

UN World Food Programme

The UN World Food Programme is the world's largest humanitarian organisation fighting hunger. The WFP is part of the United Nations and is funded exclusively by voluntary contributions from governments, companies and individuals.

How exactly is a meal financed?

Now back to the donation. How does this translate into social assistance? Together with our partner, the WFP, we want to give young children and mothers access to nutritious meals and thus support them in maintaining a balanced diet. As an independent aid organization, the WFP does not support any products or services. That is why share gives 6 cents of every snack sold to the WFP to support the distribution of meals. The joint project is part of the ShareTheMeal initiative.
