Donate your snacks for children in Somalia

With you and Action Against Hunger, we support young children with emergency meals.

Did you know that each of our products always contains a social donation? Let's look at Somalia, one of the poorest countries in the world. Extreme weather, such as flash floods or multi-year droughts, a general water shortage, plagues of locusts and, most recently, the corona pandemic, have contributed to food insecurity being one of the highest in the world. Your snack is donating to provide malnourished children with vital emergency food.

What does this emergency food look like?

Our project partners from Action Against Hunger in Somalia provide children under five with meals, or more precisely, with ready-to-eat therapeutic food. This is a peanut paste that is enriched with vitamins and minerals and can be eaten straight away without preparation. A child needs around 150 of these meals over 6 to 8 weeks to overcome the state of acute malnutrition. In total, we want to distribute at least 10 million meals within the project. To this end, the small children are examined regularly; mothers receive practical training to make them aware of the importance of a balanced and nutritious diet.

Long-term, sustainable access to nutritious meals promotes physical and mental development, and thus later health and educational success, particularly in (young) children. This in turn creates the conditions for social and economic participation.

Action against hunger

The aid organization Action Against Hunger has been fighting hunger in the world since 1979 and wants to save lives and give new hope to people in need. In addition to access to food, this also includes building wells and sanitary facilities, training people in healthy behavior and distributing hygiene products.

How is emergency food financed?

As an independent aid organization, our partner Action Against Hunger does not support any products or services. That is why share donates 10 cents of every snack sold to Action Against Hunger. As part of the cooperation, this amount is multiplied by the EU, so that for every snack product sold, a person in need receives a meal.
