Support mothers and children with meals

Adequate nutrition in the first 1000 days of life

165 million children worldwide suffer from developmental disorders, almost all of which can be traced back to chronic malnutrition and undernutrition (source: Unicef, 2022) . Proper and sufficient nutrition in the first 1,000 days of life - from pregnancy to the age of 2 - is not only essential for survival, but also paves the way for the child's later educational and life opportunities. In order to keep these opportunities as high as possible, there are nutrition camps in which mothers, with your support, learn everything about proper nutrition and essential food rations.

Where we help

There are so many places in the world where help is needed. To get started, we have decided to support partner organizations in India and Yemen.

Why India
Why India

Despite the country's efforts to combat poverty, people in rural areas continue to be particularly affected by food insecurity. This is exacerbated by the increasing frequency of droughts caused by climate change. India remains one of the 20 countries with the highest rates of malnutrition and undernourishment in children in the world.

Why Yemen
Why Yemen

The number of people suffering from hunger in Yemen has never been higher and is likely to rise. The seven-year civil war in Yemen and the war in Ukraine are causing food prices to rise. The country is in an economic crisis. Among the hungry population are approximately 1.3 million pregnant and breastfeeding women and 2.2 million children under the age of 5 who are acutely malnourished.

What we want to achieve in 2023

For us, transparent goals and communication are our top priority when it comes to projects and collaborations. Together with our local partner organization, we determine what we want to achieve.

How we work

We have teamed up with those who are experts in helping around the world: verified national and international aid organizations. We trust them because we can see exactly how they use the money. This way we can be sure that our help reaches the right people.

Our selected partners in the fight against malnutrition are Welthungerhilfe and the UN World Food Programme (WFP) .

It is particularly important for young mothers to have basic knowledge about this important topic. Welthungerhilfe therefore trains women in the areas of healthy nutrition, growing and producing their own food, and hygiene practices.

Let's look at the village in Nayagaon, Madhya Pradesh in May 2022. Here, Welthungerhilfe was able to identify the causes of malnutrition among children in the village. Thanks to the knowledge imparted in the camps and the food provided, the number of malnourished children was reduced from 70 to 3.
