Donate your stationery to children in Indonesia

With you, we want to build an innovative education center on Sumatra, Indonesia, in 2023.

Did you know that each of our products always contains a social donation? Let's look at Indonesia, or more specifically Sumatra. The island is the sixth largest in the world and has a great diversity of plant and animal species. And although Sumatra is a major economic power for Indonesia, many people there live in poverty. With your stationery product you support the construction of an innovative education center in Sumatra and enable a child to learn.

What is behind the innovative educational center?

The education center has a variety of components that enable children to learn outside of school. For example, there is a media room where children have access to computers to develop digital skills, as well as a library and a sports facility.

It is located in a recycling village where all buildings are made of so-called "Ecobricks". Ecobricks are used plastic bottles filled with plastic waste that are given a second life here. The educational center is being built in collaboration with various universities, architects and engineers and consists of a whopping 6,000 kg of recycled plastic that was collected, sorted and processed from rivers and the rainforest in the region.

The project is therefore part of the solution to several challenges: through waste collection and recycling facilities, the massive waste problem on site is reduced in the short term and through targeted measures it is reduced in the long term. Collecting, sorting and processing the waste creates new jobs and can thus prevent the burning or dumping of waste in nature. In addition, the education center offers children and young people the opportunity for extracurricular further education and thus creates new perspectives.

Project Wings

When Project Wings was founded in 2019, the vision was to improve the development opportunities and prospects of the people in and around Bukit Lawang (Sumatra, Indonesia) and to address the challenges of poverty, inadequate educational opportunities, species loss and the plastic problem. Following the development cooperation approach, Project Wings aims to achieve long-term structural improvement in the region and leave behind a self-sustaining system.

How exactly is the construction of the educational center financed?

Back to your donation. How exactly does this turn into social assistance? Together with our partner Project Wings, we pursue the common goal of providing access to education. As an independent aid organization, Project Wings does not support any products or services. That is why share gives 10 cents of every stationery product sold to Project Wings to finance the construction of the education center.
