Providing people in Madagascar and Bangladesh with access to clean water

Our goal for 2025

Together with Action Against Hunger and Welthungerhilfe, we are committed to ensuring that more people can exercise their fundamental right to clean water.

7,999,583Days access to drinking water

More than just drinking water

Clean drinking water is crucial for hygiene, nutrition, and education, yet 2.2 billion people lack direct access (Welthungerhilfe, 2024). In many regions of Africa, South Asia, and Latin America, the lack of secure access to clean drinking water not only poses a significant health risk, but also causes economic and social disadvantages. Women and children spend hours every day fetching water from distant sources—time that is lost for education or employment.

Our commitment

Where are we active?

In Bangladesh, climate change and environmental problems are significantly exacerbating the drinking water situation. Rising sea levels and frequent storm surges are causing saltwater to penetrate inland and salinize the groundwater. Furthermore, groundwater in many regions is contaminated with arsenic.

In Madagascar, many people lack reliable access to clean drinking water. Especially in rural areas, water sources are often contaminated, endangering the health of the population. Increasingly frequent droughts are exacerbating the problem.

Creating a better livelihood together

We provide support where help is urgently needed: In Madagascar, we support long-term access to water by repairing and maintaining wells. In Bangladesh, a reverse osmosis system transforms salty seawater into clean drinking water – a true game changer for the local population. These projects strengthen social and economic participation, reduce dependency, and contribute to long-term poverty reduction.

Who we work with

We've partnered with experts in providing global aid: vetted national and international aid organizations. We trust them because we can see exactly how they use the money. This way, we can be sure that our aid is reaching the right place.
