Our goal for 2025

We want to save as much food as possible from being wasted. Together with Tafel Deutschland and Berliner Tafel, we are committed to fairer food distribution.

Distribute food instead of wasting it

Food waste is a global problem. In Germany alone, almost a third of the food produced is thrown away. This is also worrying given the rising poverty rate in this country.

There are over 970 food banks in Germany, with 60,000 volunteers and full-time employees. Together, they manage the logistical feat of providing food to approximately two million food bank guests.

Our commitment

Where are we active?

Even though Germany is one of the richest countries in the world, there are still many people here who have little money left over for food: Approximately 3 million people in Germany are affected by food poverty.* Current trends and rising food prices are exacerbating this situation, so that more and more people are regularly dependent on the help of food banks.

Together against food waste

Our selected partners in the food rescue effort are Tafel Deutschland and Berliner Tafel. Together with the many volunteers at Tafel, we rescue food from senseless disposal and distribute it to people affected by poverty.

The food banks are also an important point of contact for community interaction by creating space and a framework for social encounters.

Who we work with

We've partnered with experts in providing global aid: vetted national and international aid organizations. We trust them because we can see exactly how they use the money. This way, we can be sure that our aid reaches the right people.
